Churcher’s students restore more stretches of path on the Heath

Led once again by staff member Tony Ostersen, and supported by members of the Friends of Petersfield Heath,Churcher’s College students gave their time as part of the College’s Community Action Service, for the fifth year since 2013, extending the raised paths on the south side of the Heath between the Pond and Sussex Road. Overall they have restored over 250 meters of path delivering over 56 cubic metres of material weighing 126 tonnes, at a cost to Churcher’s College in excess of £11,000. The work took place between 21st and 28th June 2017 when the latest stretches of path were opened by Councillor James Deane. The restored path will make pushchair and wheelchair access much easier and will reduce potential accidents.
