Pair of black swans - thanks to Alf Smallbone

Black swans are back

A recently arrived pair of Black Swans at the Heath pond have so far ruffled no feathers in the 30 strong flock of resident Mute Swans. In fact they look quite at home and attracting a lot of interest from the visiting public. In the past Black Swans have tended to stay for only a day or two so this pair might be the exception. Their origin is unknown but there are small numbers in the S. Hampshire harbours and to the east in West Sussex.
